Abstract

The article deals with features of
the study of the life and work of Honore de Balzac in the context of interethnic
relations. The influence of Ukrainian culture and tradition on the work of the French
writer can be traced. The vision of Ukraine by the European writer is analyzed.
The modern style of life requires creative approach to the literature lesson and
the whole process of learning . Comparative method gives the opportunity to form
vital competencies, to expand the educational, upbringing and worldview
opportunities of students in secondary and high schools. In the study of the life and
work of O. de Balzac in the course "History of Foreign Literature" for students the
specialty "014 Secondary Education (Language and Literature (Polish))" the use of
elements of literary and local lore is recommended. Integrated lessons can be used in
school teaching, which combine the material of foreign literature and Ukrainian
literature, foreign language, history, geography, etc. The lesson of culture lens, which
aims to study a work (works, creations) in the context of the culture of a particular
nation or historical period, is seen as productive. In structure, it can be a lessonjourney.
