Abstract

The purpose of the investigation is to observe the poetry "Beauty of Ukraine,
Podolia! » in terms of its visual characteristics, which contributes to a comprehensive
scientific reading of this textbook work by Lesya Ukrainka.
Methods and techniques. For this purpose, the key aspects of receptive
aesthetics are used, which in combination with textual and historical-literary methods
allow a synthetic approach to the coverage of the problem.
Results. The article for the first time focuses on the artistic specifics of visual
parameters, which largely express the recipient's perception of the work of art, its
expressiveness, mood, energy integrity.
Conclusions. During the research, the place of poetry «Beauty of Ukraine,
Podolia! » in the cycle «Journey to the Sea», respectively, in the collection «On the
Wings of Songs» (1892) and all the poetic works of the writer, outlines her inscribed in the artistic heritage of literary local lore of Podolsk region (both Khmelnitsky and
Vinnitsa) and the Kosach families associated with these places.
The visual and artistic dimension of poetry is revealed due to the originality of
the bright landscape of the Podolsk region, which is perceived by the observer and is
transmitted through the prism of his feelings to the recipient. An important
component is the compositional factor, which has a clear frame and pictures of
landscapes of Podolsk nature, reflected in three «frames», the rapid change of which
is due to the movement of the train.
Creative parallels in the depiction of visual dominants with the poetic work of
Taras Shevchenko, in particular the poem «Princess», which have the same objects of
the surrounding reality, but differ only in the main and auxiliary focuses of the
observer. It was found that the folk poetry tradition significantly influenced the
development of classical Ukrainian literature and ensured the longevity of the
historical and literary process.
