Abstract

Ukrainian contemporary poetry has its own “voice”, which helps to highlight
a worthy place in modern world discourse and help to regain the once stolen past. The scientific
problem is to state the identity and belonging to a certain ethnic and national culture Ukrainian literature - modern, in particular, and to refute the «secondary» talent of Ukrainian writers in relation to
their neighbors. Sviatoslav Vakarchuk - Ukrainian poet-singer - in political lyrics depicts the disappointment of the people, the desire for freedom, the establishment of the dignity of the nation; in the
love lyrics the vector of feat, “act” in the name of love is outlined. Ukrainian literature has ancient
traditions, the origins of which should be sought in the era of Kievan Rus. The achievements of our
ancestors were appropriated by more aggressive barbarian peoples, who still consider them “theirs”.
This cohort includes the works “Veles’s book”, “A word about Igor’s regiment”, the creativity Grigory Skovoroda. S. Vakarchuk writes about a deep love for a woman, which is creative for a lyrical hero,
touches on the problems of freedom and coercion in the psychological plane of human character.
The problem is built around the internal psychological conflict of the lyrical hero: will he be able to
overcome himself and reach another level of his personality. In poetics, S. Vakarchuk tries to reveal
both the philosophical desire for freedom and historical postcolonialism in an attempt to disobey in
order to find one’s own identity and revive the historical past for the future self-realization of Ukraine
as a nation, ethnos, and state. When we talk about modern realities, we should pay attention not only
to open aggression, but also to expansion (peaceful invasion, inclusion in the economy). How does a
Ukrainian feel on his own territory?!
