Ukrainian Literary Criticism of Intermilitary Period in Poland (on the Material of the Magazine “Biuletyn Polsko–Ukraiński”)

Abstract

In the article, the author concentrates her attention on the illumination and analysis of literary critical idea in the Warsaw magazine of “Biuletyn Polsko-Ukraiński” during intermilitary period. Beginning from the 20th, the Ukrainian literary process was, divided into two varieties: literature in post-Soviet Ukraine and literature in the West Ukrainian territory, majority from which entered the renewed Polish state during the intermilitary period. The author characterizes literary criticism on the pages of the edition “Biuletyn Polsko-Ukraiński”, that developed the aesthetic criteria oh estimations of the artistic phenomena, tried to forecast their development at the same time, determined the location of an artist in a literary process, intercommunications between different writers, helped Polish reader public to understand in the Ukrainian artistic process. In “Biuletyn Polsko-Ukraiński, the significant materials devoted to the most valuable from the aesthetic point of view literary artistic phenomena of the Ukrainian culture and literature prevailed. In magazine analytical, informative reviews and survey articles were, printed on the separate numbers of the Ukrainian and Polish literary magazines.
