Polish Writers at the Reception of Dmytro Pavlychko

The translation and journalistic works of D. Pavlychko, which were dedicated to the brightest representatives of Polish literature, who are spiritually or thematically close to the author’s works, are analyzed in the article. Dmytro Pavlychko is a poet, translator, publicist, literary critic, political and public figure. His works have been in the field of view of readers and literary critics for more than seventy years, during which he has published dozens of collections, books with translations, collections of publications and literary studies, articles, which are different in themes and genre, in magazines and periodicals. Throughout his career, the artist often refers to Polish literature. D. Pavlychko attaches great importance to translated literature, which enhances the universal arsenal of spiritual values and fosters humane consciousness. He stresses on this in his speeches, publications, literary studies, and translations. D. Pavlychko translates the works of those writers whom he likes, and also writes forewords to anthologies and collections, articles about artists whom he met personally or was interested in their works. He actively promotes the peace-making, friendly contacts of Ukrainian literature and tries to consider it in the context of contemporary processes and trends of world cultures
