A. Krymskyi is a Researcher and Publisher of S. Rudanskyi's Works
Abstract
In the multifaceted activity of A. Krymskyi, the work of S. Rudanskyi is the subject of editorial and publishing interests and literary studies. The purpose of the publication is to trace the organic unity of such research directions as the scientific reception and preparation for publication of the works of S. Rudanskyi and A. Krymskyi, to understand the synthesis of the researcher's literary (in particular, textual) and editorial and publishing activities.
The method of system analysis makes it possible to trace the integrity of the multifaceted activity of A. Krymskyi, in particular, the interrelationship of such components as literary and editorial and publishing. The methodological basis of the work is general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis and such methods of literary studies as historical-cultural, biographical, elements of comparative reading and anti-colonial discourse.
A. Krymskyi, as a researcher and publisher of the works of S. Rudanskyi, working with manuscripts, went from publications in 1895 in the magazines "Life and Word" and "The Star", which were accompanied by his forewords, to the publication of separate volumes in the prepared with M. Komarov and I. Franko to the seven-volume book (1895–1903).
According to A. Krymskyi, a textologist, the works of S. Rudanskyi should be arranged according to the chronological principle. In his opinion, the first edition of the writer's works is the most valuable source, which makes it possible to reconstruct the chronological development of poetic talent. Two autograph volumes of S. Rudanskyi's works from 1851 to 1859 are considered by A. Krymskyi to be his poetic diary.
A. Krymskyi believes that S. Rudanskyi called all his poetic works spivomovkas.
In "Foreword [to the edition of "Works of Stepan Rudansky". Vol. V, Lviv, 1899]" A. Krymskyi analyzed the writer's works in historical, cultural and comparative aspects. The political subtext is considered in the current anti-colonial direction.
The biographical, worldview, social, comparative and folkloristic aspects are considered in the study of A. Krymskyi "To the biography of Step. Rudansky (On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the poet's death)" (1925)
