Features of the Artistic Time in the Story "PO Box" by Viktoriia Hranetska

Abstract

The article outlines the specifics of artistic time in the story "PO Box" by Viktoriia Hranetska. In this story, the writer experiments
with time-space, and time expressed in several dimensions and intersections takes priority. It is also important that the authors include the writer in the discourse of whimsical-experimental prose of the second half of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st centuries, since this literary phenomenon acquired a special resonance, significantly defined the Ukrainian literature of the specified period, underwent a significant evolution not only thanks to the national tradition, but also in connection with world trends in the development of magical realism. An attempt was made to analyze the story, which became a synopsis for an unwritten novel, from the perspective of the collision of linear time and the category of duration, which makes the chronotope of Lviv as relief and concentric, enhances the intrigue, the psychological depth of the main character image, and gives the story an ambiguous sound. Letters from Zlata-present to Zlata-from-the-future and vice versa form the internal dynamics of the plot, express the category of duration.

Among the methods used in the article, it is worth highlighting the culturalhistorical, systemic functional approach, a systemic approach and the method of receptive aesthetics. In literary studies, there are not many investigations devoted to the work of
Viktoriia Hranetska, therefore there is a need to highlight the originality of her creative manner, to analyze her works. The results of the research prove that the analysis of artistic time in the story "PO Box" gives impetus to the coverage of the specified category in subsequent works, reveals the essence features of both the artistic world and the poetics of the writer's prose. As a conclusion, it can be stated that the author's creation of a peculiar chronotope and artistic time in the story is a consequence of the immersion of creative talent in the dimensions of an unreal artistically transformed existence, original and integral.
