T. Shevchenko's works as didactic material in publications of the Ukrainian diaspora

The purpose of the article is to analyze the features of using T. Shevchenko's work as didactic material in publications of the Ukrainian diaspora. The research methodology is based on the capabilities of a cultural-historical approach combined with the active use of qualitative content analysis and systems analysis.
Research results. The article proves that the work of T. Shevchenko demonstrated the educational potential of Ukrainian literature, which is relevant in the educational and public space of the Ukrainian diaspora.
It was noted that the analyzed reading books by M. Yurkevych (“Sunny Days”, 1952; “Merry Stream”, 1952; “Golden Bee”, 1959; “Sunny Ray”, 1960) and by B. Romanenchuk (for the 3rd year of Ukrainian language studies, 1955; for the 4th year of Ukrainian language studies, 1958; for the 2nd year of Ukrainian language studies, 1960) offer poetic works by T. Shevchenko, which are traditionally intended for children's reading. In particular, these are autobiographical lyrics, landscape poetry, or excerpts of descriptions of nature from lyrical-epic works. It is emphasized that texts imbued with civic pathos and historical works are important in the ideological concept of publications.
It has been studied that educational publications contain not only tasks of a reproductive nature.
The works of the artistic Shevchenko movement, whose authors are Western Ukrainian writers (Uliana Kravchenko, A. Lototskyi), diaspora writers (R. Zavadovych, N. Narkevych) and soviet writers (O. Ivanenko), are also characterized.
It was noted as a shortcoming that B. Romanenchuk does not provide the titles of T. Shevchenko's works, but suggests his own titles, and also does not indicate the excerpt from which work is cited. This does not contribute to an objective perception of the writer's work.
The conclusions emphasize the role of T. Shevchenko's work in the didactic and national-educational ideas of the analyzed publications.
